Here we go with another week of news. This is a really good collection. Check it out:

A man invented a canoe for wheelchair bound folks. Good read. Pretty long though.
Okay…when I first read this I thought it was a joke. A one time thing. I was wrong. The more I read it, the more sense it made. People are using Britney Spears music to drive away Somali pirates:
“These guys can’t stand western culture or music, making Britney’s hits perfect,” Owens explained. “It’s so effective the ship’s security rarely needs to resort to firing guns.”

Welp, I’m sure this isn’t the first time we’re hearing about this. But, it won’t be the last either. A woman told her local radio station that she’ll be giving out candy…and a stern letter for the kids’ parents too. Mercy. But wait, this is for obese kids. Lawd have mercy.

“I am not denying any of the kids candy,” she said. “I am just hoping the parents are going to read this and think about it while they watch their kids get into bigger and bigger sizes of clothes,” according to a recording of the radio show. “As far as we know Cheryl is a local Fargo woman that thinks it is her mission to watch out for the overweight children of Fargo,” radio host Corey Schaffer said Wednesday.

The whole story is here and she explains what the letter says.

Yup, just as I figured, there is some Halloween themed news. There was a drug bust. Four pounds of cocaine. Where was it? In a couple of pumpkins…in the airport…yeah.

Border agents found a spooky Halloween surprise Thursday in three pumpkins someone tried to smuggle through the Montreal airport, authorities said — about four pounds of suspected cocaine.

The pumpkins were hollowed out, filled with about 2 kilograms of white powder in bags and recapped, the Canada Border Services Agency said. They were being transported Thursday morning by a suspect authorities would identify only as a female traveler arriving at Montreal-Trudeau International Airport.

Take a look at the whole story if you want.

Boy, these are some of my favorite good news. A bus driver, while crossing a bridge, noticed a woman was ready to jump off and end it all. He pulls over, hops out, and talks the woman out of it. What’s better, the bus’ camera captured the whole thing. Awesome. Hit the link to see the video.
