Back to Psalm, huh? Psalm 27:1 says The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?
Here we go. We look at “whom shall I fear?” So, light in this case may be an opposite of darkness, which is relative to fear. Really, this entire verse deals with the wonder of why God’s people are afraid. Light is a reason to not be afraid. With God’s light, we are protected in His truth. As we saw with the other Psalm, His word is a lamp to our feet and light to our path.
Evil hates light because light is good. So, when the Lord is our light, nothing can stand against us. We can walk confidently in the light and not worry or fear of harm. That’s how I see it. What about you?
