Part of the reason I like this verse so much is the context that it’s in. This verse is about character. Here it is, spoken to Daniel: I have heard of you, that the Spirit of God is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you.

Before such a statement was made, Daniel was letting his light so shine in his ability to interpret dreams and his desire to follow God’s command, even in eventual face of danger.

The use of light of course is a good thing in this case with the well known idea of light being good and darkness being evil.

Let this serve as a motivation for you to keep doing the right thing. People will notice you and notice who you are and what you stand for. People will notice this. Some will turn to attack that while others will honor that, even if they personally wouldn’t do what you do.

Keep up the good work at school or job. Your superior is watching. Just do your thing. The awesome part in all of this is that, if the light in you is genuine, there won’t be much effort to live a godly life. Just be you.

So, what will be my favorite verse of all time? I’ll give you a hint: It ties very deeply into what this blog is about. Sure, all of the verses tie into this blog but this last verse really speaks to it.
