Sometimes, a name is a very powerful thing. Some people have a name they can try to live up to. Some people’s names mean hope. Love. Prosperity. Courage. Heroic. Funny.
My name is Dante, and it means “enduring”.
What does enduring mean? Well, readers of this blog know I consult Merriam-Webster for my definitions so here we go. Enduring means: lasting, durable.
When you consider the name of the blog, Dante’s Optimism, it could also be seen as “Enduring Optimism”. Now, this could be interpreted in a couple of ways:
The secret of getting things done is to act! Dante Alighieri
Confidence cannot find a place wherein to rest in safety. Virgil
Heaven wheels above you, displaying to you her eternal glories, and still your eyes are on the ground. Dante Alighieri
Trust not too much to appearances. Virgil
I’m back! Dante has returned with all kinds of thoughts. First question is from Jill B:
If a friend/family member asked for there to be no funeral after their death, would you respect their wishes? Why or why not?
Yes, I would. If that’s what they want, then I’m all for it. I personally care for one myself.
Ok, how about neither funeral or memorial service then? 🙂
Well, it would hurt me if they wouldn’t want a memorial service. But, again, that’s up to them. We gotta respect their wishes. I think, in the sense of a memorial service, you can have a group of close family members get together. Unlike a typical funeral, you wouldn’t make this public. I think that’s fine.

Should you try to hold gas in while going to the bathroom? i was in my dorm bathroom and had to pass gas ,so just let it all out even though my roommate was in the other room, was that gross/rude?
Nah, the bathroom is like the only place you can freely let loose; especially in public places. It’s the bathroom. You’re free to let loose the bodily functions and such. You might feel embarrassed or your roommate might feel that way too but there’s really nothing wrong with it.

The site is back online! DALANEL makes a return and I’m gonna let ya know what the heck I did.
You like the new theme? Me too. I’m gonna try it out for a while but I think it’s a keeper. I want to hear your feedback on it though.
Okay, so I’m going to split the updates into two posts. This post will talk about the page updates and various widgets and such. The next one will talk about the new features of Daily Good Stuff as well as the new weekly feature. That will be tomorrow. I don’t want to overload you with so much in one post, ya know?
So, let’s talk about the new theme.
As you may have noticed, I’ve made a few changes to DALANEL appearance-wise. This is a post talking about that as well as talking about the various pages on the site. If you’re new here or been following this blog for quite some time, you’ll need this post.
I’m Dante, and I’ll be your tour guide. Please hold all questions until the end of the post. Please stay with the group at all times and absolutely please touch any pages that interest you.
Let’s start with my widgets.
